Ready to Shed Your Tattoo?
You’re Lucky Today’s Lasers Make It Easy
In the past two decades miraculous new lasers have come onto the market. For people who’ve outgrown the tattoo phase of their lives, these lasers are a godsend. Before they were invented, unwanted tattoos could only be removed through painful abrasion.
FUN FACT: The most frequent reason for getting tattoos removed is falling out of love and wanting the former lover’s name erased.
Pulses of Light
To break up the pigment your tattoo is made of, we use a laser that emits wavelengths of light in short flashes. At Beautologie we offer the Q-switched Nd: Yag laser system.
The Q-switched Nd: YAG is the newest and most advanced system for tattoo removal. It can remove the entire spectrum of ink colors, and is particularly adept at removing red, blue and black inks.

How Do Lasers Remove Tattoos?
Intense light pulses pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin and are selectively absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles. The particles dissolve and are absorbed by the skin cells, which eventually transfer them to the bloodstream, where they pass out of the body through its natural waste removal systems.

Does Tattoo Removal Hurt?
Both getting and getting rid of tattoos can be uncomfortable. The impact of the energy from the laser's powerful pulse of light has been described as similar to getting hot specks of bacon grease on your skin, or being snapped by a thin rubber band.
We’ll give you a prescription anesthetic cream to place on your tattoo before each laser session. Our caring staff will ensure that everything is done to make your experience as comfortable and pleasant as can be.

After Your Treatment
Following treatment, we’ll apply an antibacterial ointment and dressing to the area if necessary. The area should be kept clean after the treatment. A shower or bath the day after treatment is okay, but the treatment area should not be scrubbed.
Your skin might feel slightly sunburned for a couple of days and the treated area may remain red for a few weeks. The site might also form a scab, which should be handled gently. After the scab heals, the tattoo will gradually and continually fade.

Multiple Sessions
The treatment only takes a few minutes, but you’ll need to come back a few times to get your entire tattoo removed.
• The number of sessions depends on the amount and type of ink used, and how deeply it was injected.
• Three-week intervals between sessions are required to allow pigment residue to be absorbed by the body.
• 5 to 15 individual sessions will take care of most tattoos

Degree of Difficulty: The more colors and more intricate the tattoo, the more sessions are required to remove it.

Is There Scarring?
At Beautologie, we will personally make sure the risk of scarring is low by using only a very specialized tattoo removal laser by appropriately trained personnel.
Will It Change My Skin Color?
The highly advanced laser tattoo device at Beautologie selectively targets the pigment of the tattoo so there is no damage to the surrounding skin.
