Axis 3D Imaging: An Accurate View of What Breast Implants Would REALLY Look Like for You
With more and more people opting for cosmetic surgeries, companies are opening the door to new technology creating new and exciting ways for patients to see what they will look like before the changes ever happen. And that new technology is now available in Bakersfield.
Shannon Aaron is the mother of four children. When she made the decision to augment her breasts she had an image of what they would look like. "After four kids they're just not the same any more and I wanted to do something before I got too much older.
Aaron was one of the first patients at Beautologie in Bakersfield to take advantage of the new axis 3d imaging machine. Patients no longer have to imagine what their breasts will look like after surgery. Dr. Darshan Shah, Cosmetic Surgeon, says "This is different from old imaging because it allows us to take pictures from several different angles."
Patients stand in front of a screen that takes images not only from the front but from the top and side. The machine then takes those images and provides an accurate simulation of the changes and morphs them into the size that the patient requests...an A cup becomes a C cup in a matter of seconds but it's not just another person's breasts - it's your own.
"Many women see actresses on television or models and think that's how I want to look but this helps them make the right decision for their bodies," says Dr. Shah.

Smart Lipo: The Smart New Way to Sculpt the Body
Until recently, there was no quick and effective way to sculpt the body. Older technologies like liposuction and bariatric surgery could address relatively large deposits of fat, and conventional plastic surgery could reshape smaller areas, but there was no way to refine the bodys contours in a way that didnt require weeks of healing.
That changed with the development of Smart Lipo, a laser system that was designed specifically to redefine small areas like love handles, sagging jowls or neck, ankles, knees and male breasts.
The Nd:YAG laser is glided back and forth under the skin, delivering energy of 1064nm wavelength. This liquefies the fat cells, which are then eliminated by the bodys own natural processes.
By permanently removing fat cells in the treated area, any weight gained in the future is typically put on in different areas. Most people need just one treatment to achieve the results they desire.
Because the Smart Lipo treatment is extremely gentle compared with traditional liposuction, most people experience very little, if any, swelling or bruising. Local anesthesia is used to eliminate any discomfort during the procedure.
As many as six areas can be treated in a single session.

Laser Hair Removal More Popular Than Ever
First introduced in 1996, laser hair removal has become among the most popular aesthetic procedures, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASPS).
Each year, the ASPS reports on U.S. cosmetic surgery trends. In 2006, the number of aesthetic treatments has more than quadrupled since 1997, with over 11 million procedures performed. Laser hair removal was the second most popular procedure after Botox, with 1.5 million treatments during the year. Thats a 16% increase from 2005.
Part of the reason for laser hair removals popularity of may be its long lasting effects: most equipment has been FDA cleared for permanent hair reduction, meaning that over time, less hair will regrow in treated areas.
While the first machines were slow, taking several hours to treat a large body area like the legs or back, newer equipment is capable of treating small areas in minutes and large areas in under an hour. Patient comfort has also improved. Modern cooling technology keeps discomfort to a minimum, with most patients saying they hardly feel treatment at all.
Beautologie uses the state-of-the-art LightSheer diode laser, a device that provides superior results with extremely high patient satisfaction.
