| Before moving to Bakersfield I was a plastic surgeon at
the Mayo Clinic for eight years. Originally, my practice focused on cancer reconstruction, then over the years it grew into a busy cosmetic practice.
How do you hope to serve individuals and the community as a plastic surgeon?
As my practice grew and I performed more and more cosmetic plastic surgery procedures, I was amazed to see how much of an impact I can have on my patients' lives.
What advice would you give someone considering cosmetic surgery?
Safety is always the number one consideration. There are doctors out there who are not plastic surgeons but they still perform cosmetic surgery procedures. As a board certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the most prestigious plastic surgery societies, I feel it is imperative for patients to see a real plastic surgeon who has undergone rigorous plastic surgery training and examinations.
What are the most common procedures performed locally?
My practice focuses on breast and body contouring, and my most common procedures are breast augmentation, breast reduction, tummy tuck, and liposuction.
What are the most common misconceptions about your line of work?
1. Some people mistakenly think plastic surgery will make them look 'fake' or 'unnatural'. I strive to give my patients exactly what they want, and usually they want to look natural and refreshed.
2. And some people still think that plastic surgery is for the rich and famous. Most of my patient's live in the Bakersfield area and lead normal lives.
What makes you best suited for your job?
I love meeting new people and I'm a good listener. I really enjoy talking about plastic surgery and learning exactly what my patients want, then helping them to achieve it.
What is the most rewarding experience you¹ve had in your career?
Plastic surgery is a very broad field that allows us to take care of a diverse group of people. The most rewarding experience is being able to help so many people in so many different ways.
What has your job taught you?
Everybody is different with different needs and wants, so it is imperative to give each and every patient personalized care that is tailored to who they are and what they want. Providing superior service is key! |
