The effects of time, environmental factors, and certain medical disorders can leave skin in need of repair. Fortunately, at Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center, we offer a variety of high-quality, non-invasive skin treatments to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne and other scars, birthmarks, discolored patches of skin, rosacea, and more.
There are many terms for IPL laser treatments, such as IPL photo facial rejuvenation, IPL facial rejuvenation, and IPL photo rejuvenation – but they all use an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser. At Beautologie, we use the Lumenis One IPL Photo Facial Rejuvenation System, one of the most advanced and popular facial rejuvenation systems on the market, from one of the largest and best laser companies in the world. Dr. Milan Shah and the doctors of Beautologie are committed to the very best technology, and know that not all lasers are equal. That is why they purchase different lasers for specific procedures, rather than using an all-in-one laser. Using specific lasers for different treatments ensures that you will get the best looking results possible.
So, what does the IPL laser do? It sees pigment on the skin, and recognizes the difference between regular skin and scarred, discolored, or unhealthy skin. It then uses the intense pulsed light penetrating deep in the skin to do a controlled burn of that irregular pigment. During this process collagen is stimulated and new skin is formed leading to firmer skin, pore closure, and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. Individuals with redness, blotchiness, or flushing of the skin on the face and/or neck from rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne, sun damage, and other conditions can achieve a more uniform skin tone with this effective and safe treatment from Dr. Shah.
It freshens the skin – improving the quality, tone, and texture! Just remember, since this is new skin, it is important to protect it and your investment! Sunscreen is the best defense against the harsh UV rays of the sun.
This procedure can be performed on a wide variety of people and doesn’t require a lot of down-time. It is relatively in and out, only taking approximately 30-40 minutes. Patients will appear a little flushed that day, but that quickly goes away and the ultimate results are revealed within 2-3 weeks of the procedure. Generally, the worse the scarring or pigmentation on the skin, the more treatments that are needed for the individual; which is why patients with severe acne scarring usually require 3-4 treatments, spacing the treatments a month apart. However, since it is non-invasive, it is a very tolerant procedure! Aside from the bright light, patients have reported a slight snapping sensation on the skin, but our best efforts are made to ensure that you are comfortable.
Dr. Milan Shah specializes in non-surgical aesthetics and anti-aging medicine and has been practicing with Beautologie for over 6 years and has performed well over 7000 aesthetic procedures . What Dr. Shah enjoys most about his specialty is that he performs gratifying procedures with results that improve how his patients feel about themselves. Since these procedures do not require patients to be under any anesthesia, Dr. Shah is able to talk to his patients, and receive their input during the procedure. He has performed this IPL laser treatment on patients as young as 4 to lighten up pigmented scars.
